Ubuquothu Security Services - formerly known as Pro-Sec Guards CC - was founded by Dean Rankin in 1995.  Dean had gained invaluable experience over the years, having worked for large corporate firms in the security industry - specializing in commercial, industrial, retail and residential safety and security services.  Ubuquothu Security Services originally operated in Johannesburg, however Dean's passion for the coast prompted a move to Durban in 2006.

Shortly after successfully commencing operations in KZN, Pro-Sec Guards CC, was approached by Blue Security and  merged with their guarding division - Grey Guarding.  As Managing Director and 25% shareholder of Grey Guarding (Pty) Ltd. Dean continued to grow the portfolio while developing a culture of trust, personalised packages and superior security services.

When Blue Security closed down their guarding division in 2012, due to a 3 year restraint of trade enforced by Blue, Dean worked as an independent privately contracted security advisor while his business partner, Ephraim Conco re-established Pro-Sec Guards CC as Managing Director, focusing on building a team of loyal and trustworthy guards, nurturing their passion for providing a customised service to clients and moving towards growing the company's BEE status.  Dean re-joined the company in 2015 as CEO. Together with an excess of 30 years specialist experience between them, Dean and Ephraim continued to drive Pro-Sec Guards forward in the guarding industry in KZN.

 

Pro-Sec Guards suffered a great loss in 2016 after the sudden death of Ephraim.  It was at this stage that Dean decided to re-brand Pro-Sec Guards CC and Ubuquothu Security Services was born.  With over 25 years specialist background in all aspects of the South African security industry, Ubuquothu has the experience to serve and provide you with solid and reliable safety and security services or a tailor made solution for your needs.
